Venom: Carnage is a movie now in development.

On December 12, 2013, Sony issued a press release through the viral site, Electro Arrives announcing that two films were in development. With Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Ed Solomon writing a spin-off focused on Venom (with Kurtzman attached to direct). Hannah Minghella and Rachel O’Connor will oversee the development and production of these films for the studio. [1][2] According to Cinematallica, actor Finn Wittrock is the current front-runner for Eddie Brock/Venom and reports are saying that Alan Tudyk is up for Cletus Kasady/Carnage.[3]

Even though the sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 were cancelled in February 2015 in order for Spider-Man to be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe Sony has stated that they will be moving forward with their spin off films , meaning that Venom: Carnage and The Sinister Six will still happen. However, if Venom: Carnage is given the green light by Sony the story most likely will be rewritten in order to accommodate the new continuity.
